Why I chose to build my blog from scratch over SaaS and low-code solutions

SaaS is eating the world. Or now maybe AI is. But anyway, for my blog I didn’t choose any SaaS.

Designing a desk in Figma, from pixels to planks.

I needed a desk, I wanted to design and build it myself. I thought about using Sketch Up but remember the learning curve was a bit steep, also thought about Spline 3D but instead, I ended up using Figma. A bad choice, but the quickest way to get it done.

The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson

One of Barack Obama’s favorite books of the year (and mine too, you're welcome). Reading it felt like a catharsis after my time at AXA Climate, working on natural disasters and prevention. The book tackled many of the subjects we faced daily: heat waves, wildfires, adaptation — and, most importantly, raising awareness among people and companies about their exposure.

Decathlon: Removing the training wheels from an MVP and scaling it across Europe

“I hope you don’t quit after seeing that.” On my very first day at Decathlon—a global retail leader and dream workplace for French product managers, the fog of war slowly lifted before my eyes. Multiple fronts appeared: price wars against Shein, H&M and consorts, intense competition with premium brands like Nike and Patagonia, E-commerce battles with Amazon and pure players, and the unavoidable tensions that come with fast-paced transformation.

From an audience of none to an audience of one

Here I am, writing my first blog post, about... well, creating this blog :) Where to begin? I've been a Product manager for nearly a decade, but also a creative, a builder, an aspiring designer and developer, juggling with a rich array of un/related passions and interests from woodworking to Al.
